Collie and Sheltie Rescue Alumni

Barnacle was abandoned in a kennel. All of his hair was cut, but he still had the "face to die for."  See his picture when he was first rescued.

He loves walks and all food (especially rice and ice).  He eats dry dog food, but sometimes is allowed to have small "tastes" of other food.  He hates bikes, motorcycles, skateboards, Dalmatians, and Brittany Spaniels. 

Sheldon was a stray with big paws and a long, wiry body.  He was tall (We think he was a basketball player even though we heard he enjoys playing soccer with his new family).

Barnacle is performing his duties as a host dog for Sheldon.

Bambie was adopted in 1996.

Lacy was adopted in 1996.

Penny, pictured with Daniel, was adopted in 1997. Here she is waiting for Santa.

Bonnie was adopted in 1998.

Lassie lives with Fancy and Buddy.

Kipper was a stray with too much energy.  He loved running and walking in circles endlessly.

Rascal is a six year old sable that was abandoned by his owners with a broken leg.  He was obviously abused, but still loves people.  He is very personable, has a cheerful disposition, and loves affection.  Barnacle taught him how to catch and crunch ice during his stay at Barnacle's house.

Paris was adopted in 1999.

Joshua (Sebastian), as a puppy, was adopted in 1999.  A picture of him in 2001.

Sassy was adopted in 1999.  Her loving family reports that, while shy, she runs and hops like a fox in the field behind her house.  She loves sleeping on the bed, tummy rubs, car rides, and eating chicken and cheese. 

Monty was adopted during Hurricane Dennis. He is very affectionate, loves to go on walks, and is making great progress on his figure.

Misty was adopted in January 2000.

Little Sarah was adopted in February 2000.

Rocky is now living in VA Beach and enjoying going to the office every day. See him running along the beaches of Duck.   He has also taken up yachting.

Scout (the dog formerly known as Harry) is learning how to play ball at Sonny's house.

Anna was rescued in July 2000.

Neptune was adopted in August 2000.

Cyra, a blue merle, was adopted August 26, 2000. She loves hanging out on the couch.

Sox was adopted in August 2000. He enjoyed living and working with Rocky.

Princess was adopted in September 2000. She loves treats like all dogs -- like Barnacle watching in interest from a distance. A picture of her at Adopt-a-thon.

Aspen was adopted in November 2000.

Spencer was adopted in December 2000.

Ellie is about 5 years old and is seeing how she enjoys sharing her home with foster dogs. Toby is staying with her and is seen relaxing here.

Duchess was adopted in February 2001. See her hanging out on the couch.

Max was adopted on February 2001.

Princess, the sheltie, was adopted 20 April 2001.

Scottie was adopted on 21 April 2001. He is a smart, energetic and athletic dog.

Angel was adopted on 21 April 2001. She is a sweet, gentle, wonderful girl who enjoys running around in her backyard.  See a picture of Zoe (Angel) in January 2002 playing in the snow. 

Champ was adopted on 26 April 2001. He likes kites and playing in the park. He also loves his human brother Matthew.

Jack was adopted on 19 May 2001 after a long search for the perfect parents.

Scooby was adopted on 24 May 2001. He is glad to be out of the rain and running free at his new house.

Belle was adopted 29 May 2001. 

Lightning  (the smaller collie) was adopted in June 2001, and Thunder was adopted 23 August 20001.  See a picture of Leah (Lightning) and Karin here.

Moobie was adopted 23 July 2001 and enjoys his walks at First Landing State Park. 

Sparky (our blind collie pup) was adopted on 4 August 2001.  He is living with 2 other collies who will show him around his new house.  See a picture of his new family during his transfer.

Godfrey was adopted 10 August 2001. He is planning on continuing his training and is hoping to become a therapy dog. 

Millar was adopted 16 Sept 2001. See a picture of Millar and the Chuck E Cheese mouse at Hampton Bay Days.

Racer was adopted 27 Sept 2001.  He is good natured, obedient, attentive, and alert.

Chloe was adopted 28 Sept 2001.  She is having a wonderful time with her new family and playing with her step-sister, Amber, an aussie-sheltie mix.

Brandy, a true miniature collie, was adopted 30 Sept 2001.  She is a little shy at first, but rapidly makes friends.

Max was adopted on 7 Oct 2001.  He is the star of his advanced obedience class.

King was adopted on 11 Oct 2001.  He loves to play and his favorite game is tug-of-war.

Lady was adopted on 21 Oct 2001.  She is a little dog under all that fur.   Lady is posing during her vacation in Pennsylvania.  Another shot of Lady with her sister Gigot. 

Jack was adopted 25 Oct 2001.  He was turned into Portsmouth animal control covered with mats the size of your palm.  He is such a pleasant, friendly dog. 

Jake was adopted on 3 Nov 2001.

Maxx was adopted on 7 Nov 2001.  Here is a picture of him before he had his leg amputated.  Maxx had a dislocated elbow and was not taken to the vet for several weeks.  His owners had given the authorization to euthanize him since they didn't want to pay for the surgery. 

Henry was adopted on 19 Nov 2001, and he is very observant of everything around him. 

Maggie was adopted on 4 Dec 2001.  She and her Pomeranian brother, Mister Cee, are the best of friends.  Maggie graduated first in her advanced obedience class on 19 Feb 2002.  She also received her Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog International certifications on 19 Feb 2002.

Lucky was adopted on 7 Dec 2001.

Callie was adopted on 1 January 2002.  She trimmed down from 102 lb. to 77 lb.  She has learned that floor vents are equivalent to your own personal AC unit.  

Chelsea was adopted on 13 January 2002.  She loves playing with her tennis ball and lying in front of the fireplace. 

Kyndall was adopted on 30 January 2002.

Tobie was happily adopted on 2 February 2002 and is living comfortably in Yorktown.

Lucy was adopted on 3 February 2002.

Molly was adopted on 7 February 2002.  Here she is with her new family.

Keoni was adopted on 9 March 2002 and is living with his new sister, Emily.

Robin was adopted on 9 March 2002 and will be going to the office with his new father.  Bitsie was adopted on 5 April 2002 and will be living with Robin.

Shadow was adopted on 14 March 2002.  He loves car rides.  

George was adopted on 19 March 2002.  He is enjoying playing with tennis balls and going for walks/car rides with his new family.  George's sister, Dani, likes to play dress up with him.  

Maddie was adopted on 14 April 2002 and is living with her new sister sheltie, Sabrina.  Her new parents will be spoiling her rotten.

Robbie was adopted on 14 April 2002.  

Max (#3) was adopted on 15 April 2002 after passing the grandchildren test.  

Cassie was adopted on 21 April 2002.  She is looking forward to agility training.  

Riley made such an impression on his foster family that they decided to adopt him on 15 May 2002.  He is settling in and is known to snout people when he wants affection (which is all the time).  

Stormy was adopted on 4 June 2002.  He doesn't care much for TV commercials and prefers watching without them.  Stormy was staying with Maxwell and Rudy while waiting to find a new home.  Here is a picture of him and Maxwell together.

Collete was adopted on 3 July 2002.  She happily plays ball with her new mom and also likes to play with Matt the cat.

Pepper was adopted on 13 July 2002.

Buddy Blue and Casey were adopted on 4 August 2002.

Autumn and Winter were adopted on 25 August 2002.

Tess was adopted on 1 Sept 2002.  

Duncan was adopted on 2 Sept 2002.  He will be training to become a therapy dog.  

Miles  was adopted on 10 September 2002.

Prissy (on the right.  Dewey is on the left) was adopted 22 September 2002 and is on a diet and exercise program.  Her new dad found out she likes tomatoes and broccoli.  

Winston-Salem was adopted on 6 October 2002.

Chi Sai was adopted on 14 October 2002.

Beau was adopted on 5 November 2002.

Samantha was adopted on 12 November 2002.

Simba was adopted on 17 November 2002.

Lady was adopted on 8 December 2002.  

Zima was adopted on 20 December 2002.

Dakota was adopted on 22 February 2003.  

Pumpkin was adopted on 26 February 2003.

Boomer  was adopted on 3 March 2003, and he is living with his new sister Stashia who was adopted last October.  

Shelby was adopted on 8 March 2003 and is living with Leah (collie) and Corinne (sheltie).  

Brittany was adopted on 13 March 2003.  She rules over her sibling shelties at her new home.

It's official.  Poco has decided she has found a home with her foster family since she has lived with them for such a long time.  She was officially adopted on 28 April 2004.  

Tucker had so much fun with his foster family that he has decided to stay with them.  He was adopted on 10 May 2004.  

Duffy was adopted on 24 May 2004.

Hunter was adopted on 25 June 2004.  

Halo was adopted on 1 July 2004.  

Casey was adopted on 3 July 2004.

Poncho was adopted on 13 July and is seen here with his sister, Stella.

Dudley was adopted on 28 August 2004.  He is learning to play with Jewel, his australian shepherd sister.

April's foster family decided the very mature 17 yr old girl needed to stay at their house and adopted her on 2 September 2004.

Shadow enjoyed his stay at his foster home so much that he has decided to live there forever.  He was adopted on 18 January 2005 and is living with sheltie siblings Casey and Jackson.  

Mattie was adopted on 17 January 2005.

Grace was adopted on 25 January 2005.  She didn't work out in this household and was readopted on 5 March 2005 by another family.  She is happily living with Henslow now.  

Tucker (Garth) was adopted on 26 February 2005.

Charlie was adopted on 27 February 2005.

Barney (Prince) was adopted on 5 March 2005 and is living with his new collie sister, Liberty.

Josh was adopted on 12 March 2005.

Ricky's foster mom and foster sister shelties, Ariel and Miss Priss, enjoyed him so much that he is staying with them permanently as of 25 March 2005.

Bailey was adopted on 9 April 2005.

FRIENDS OF THE RESCUE

Prince is a happy puppy and is well cared for in his new home. He loves to chase the cows who are much bigger than his 8 pounds of body weight.

Dusty and Shadow are friends from St. Louis.
